Dr. S. Bond old new concrete is based on solvent-free epoxy resins containing pigments and fine fillers. It is supplied as a two-component material in pre-weighed quantities ready for on-site mixing and use. The ‘base’ component is white and the ‘hardener’ component is black, providing visual evidence (uniform grey colour) that adequate mixing has been achieved.

Advantages:

• Can be applied on to dry or SSD damp substrates

• DR.S.Bond old to new concrete should be applied as soon as the mixing process has been completed. It should be brush or spray applied to the prepared surfaces. Spray application requires a heavy duty airless spray machine such as Graco airless spray fitted with 19 -20 thou tip.
• Refer to Graco for specific advice. The new concrete or screed should be applied to the coated substrate after the DR.S.Bond old new concrete has become tacky and within 90 minutes at 20°C, ie. while the DR.S.Bond old to new concrete is still tacky. If the DR.S.Bond old new concrete is allowed to become tack-free, a second coat will be required. This second coat must be applied the same day as the first coat otherwise the first coat will need to be mechanically removed.
• As soon as the DR.S.Bond old new concrete has been applied, any required steel reinforcement and/or foreword should be erected and fixed securely in place. When required to form a barrier between chloride contaminated concrete and rendered repair material, the prepared concrete should be primed with DR.S.Bond old to new concrete and allowed to cure for 8 to 24 hours. This coating should be imperforate and any unfilled voids (blow-holes) should be filled with mortar before proceeding. Apply a second coat of DR.S.Bond old to new concrete and leave for 30 minutes before the Reader is applied to the tacky surface

Coverage - DR.S.BOND old new concrete -1kg pack-2.2sq.m

Cleaning - DR.S.BOND old new concrete should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with Solvent 10 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

If the substrate is very porous, if the temperature is high and / or the relative humidity low, it is advisable to dampen the surface .Do not leave any standing water. apply a thin uniform layer Of Dr.S.Bond Block Bond Adhesive Mortar 2 to 3 mm thick on the clean and leveled surface of masnory units proper trowel place the next course of masnory units on evenly jointing mortar bed in proper line and level. Each masnory unit shall be properly bedded and set in position by gently pressing with handle of trowel. Inside unit of the masnory unit shall be applied with mortar before the next unit is laid and pressed against it especially in case of bricks. Clean the excess material, if any immediately continue the procedure before the entire masnory work. Do not disturb the blocks / bricks setting for first 24 hours.

Mixing - It is very important that Dr.S.Bond Block Bond Adhesive ( Jointing Motor ) is mixed with water thoroughly before use. It is advisable to use a mechanical stirrer for uniform mixing to save time, labour and for maximum workability effectiveness. Add approximately 25-30% of the clean potable water. Water is added in stages to get a smooth, uniform workable mix. Allow ample time for initial mixing.
