All traces of grease or oil must be removed with a chemical degreaser. All loose particles of mortar, old wallpaper, paint etc. Must be physically removed
• Surfaces - Dr.s.bond tile adhesive can be applied directly on concrete, cement screeds, and cement or lime mortar. Special attention must be given to new construction prior to commencing tiling. Tiles should not be placed on concrete or brickwork until all shrinkage movement has taken place. To use Dr.s.bond tile adhesive on gypsum or gypsum board substrates, (1 : 3 with water) should be applied to the surface of the gypsum or gypsum board prior to application of Dr.s.bond tile adhesive
• Mixing - Dr.s.bond tile adhesive should be mixed with clear potable water in the ratio 3:1 by weight (3 part powder : 1 part water). A slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle is recommended for mixing. Add powder to water and mix until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved. The total quantitiy of water may be slightly adjusted to achieve the required consistency.

Dr.s.bond tile adhesive should be spread on the substrate to a uniform thickness of 2-3mm, and then combed horizontally with a serrated trowel. Place tiles firmly into adhesive bed, ensuring good contact with a twisting motion. Only apply to areas which can be tiled in the adhesive’s open wet time (up to 1m2 at a time).

Note: Actual yield will vary according to water addition

• Cleaning - Dr.S.Bond Tile Adhesive should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
• Fire - Dr.s.bond tile adhesive is non-flammable
• Shelf Life - Dr.s.bond tile adhesive has a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry store in the original, unopened bags.
• Storage Conditions - Store in dry conditions in the original, unopened bags or packs. If stored at high temperature and / or high humidity conditions the shelf life may be reduced

Precautions:

Health and safety - Dr.s.bond tile adhesive contains cement powders which, when mixed with water or upon becoming damp, release alkalis which can be harmful to the skin.
During use, avoid inhalation of the dust and contact with the skin or eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing - eye protection, gloves and respiratory equipment (particularly in confined spaces). The use of barrier creams to provide additional skin protection is also advised. In case of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.

Dr. S. Bond Epoxy Tile Grout is a three component system based on specially formulated epoxy resins and hardeners, especially for use in applications of ceramic tile, vitrified tile and stone.

Application Procedure Surface Preparation - Before starting to grout, remove debris in grout joints and dust can be removed by compressed air jetting. Remove dirt and dust from tile surface by cleaning with sponge. Do not clean the tiles with acids. The pre-requisites for good adhesion of the grouts are cleanliness and roughness of the surface. Unless these are ensured by proper surface performance cannot be guaranteed.

Mixing - Preparation of mortar: Mortar is prepared by mixing the base, hardener and filler given as a convenient single unit. Empty the entire contents of base and hardener into a clean vessel and mix thoroughly till both the liquids are completely blended. To this add the colored filler material and mix till a lump free uniform paste is obtained. Mix the filler to the extent to make a stiff paste to work into the joints.

Immediately pour the entire contents onto the working area. Use standard epoxy grouting techniques to work the tile grout in the tile joints. Ensure that the entire joint is packed fully with the material. Remove the excess material from the joints before the material starts setting.

• Cleaning The Tiles - Wipe the strains on the tiles with a suitable epoxy thinner when the grout is partially set.
• Maintenance - Dr. S. Bond Epoxy Tile Grout require routine cleaning with a neutral pH soap and water.

• Light colours may darken slightly from direct UV exposure. Consult us for specific recommendation.
• Since epoxy grouts take minimum 7 days to achieve full cure, it is not recommended to expose grout treated area to acids and strong cleaners during this period.
• After the application, Dr. S. Bond Epoxy Tile Grout should be protected from rain and dew for a period of 6 hours.

• Instructions for use Surface preparation - All tiles must be securely fixed in place and thoroughly cleaned before Dr.S.Bond Tile Grout is applied. The gap between tiles should not exceed 4mm. Tile joint filling should only be done 24 hours after fixing the tiles.
• Mixing - 300 ml of water is required for each 1 kg pack of Dr.S.Bond Tile Grout Add powder to water and mix until a uniform, lump-free, thick creamy paste is produced, allow to stand for ten minutes prior to use.

Apply Dr.S.Bond Tile Grout to the spaces between the tiles using a sponge or a small piece of soft cloth. Work the mixture into the joints and around the edges. Remove surplus material from the face of the tiles with a dry cloth and run the tip of a gloved finger or suitable rounded tool along the grout to level it off and form a profile. When the grout is dry, clean the tiles with a damp sponge to remove any excess material. It is advisable to remove uncured grout from textured tiles prior to setting, failure to do so may result in difficulty in removal.
